I grew up in a great home with loving parents, but I was not a Christian. After graduating from college, I started working as an Engineer in manufacturing. A friend of mine invited me to his church (Grace Baptist Church) for a Friend's Day. I decided to go, and on that Sunday morning I heard a gospel message from John 3 and asked Christ into my heart. I was baptized soon after and started serving in the church.
After a couple of years teaching Sunday school, I was led to attend Bible college. My undergraduate work was done at Massillon Baptist College in Ohio and I recently completed my Masters of Ministry from Louisiana Baptist College. Prior to starting deputation, I also worked a one year (full time) internship at Canton Baptist Temple in Ohio as well as completing the Missionary Communication Workshop in Ventura, California.
I accepted Jesus Christ as my savior when I was thirteen years old. Even though I made a profession, my life didn't really change until I was twenty-five. It was then that Jesus really became the Lord of my life and I completely surrendered to His will. I started teaching Sunday School and working in children's ministries and have enjoyed doing that each year.
I was in church and heard a message from Colossians 3:1, "if ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above...Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth." God burdened my heart about surrendering to the mission field. Truth be told, I always found a lot of security in my job and finances, so I struggled with what God was asking me to do. After a time of prayer, I surrendered to the mission field. I quit my job as an Engineer and started a one year internship at Canton Baptist Temple where I have been trained and equipped for the ministry of missions.
